Overview

Our Client is a leading electronic engineering business based in the North East of England. The company currently require a talented Materials Controller (Fixed term contract) to join the business. Purpose of the Role The materials controller will be responsible for all aspects of electrical component purchasing, as well as managing the material stock counting and reports and overall accuracy, in addition they will continue to assist Engineering with BOM queries and the closure of Change Requests. Key Responsibilities: Accuracy of component materials stock and finished product. To facilitate stores 'picking' process for all new sales orders. To facilitate the creation of the 'shortage list' to create a plan for component purchasing against specific sales orders. Efficient purchasing of all components with a view to on time despatch of product, whilst keeping stock value within budget. To ensure accurate receipt of components against purchase orders. Creation of works orders where applicable to ensure components are consumed from stock when product is complete. Assistance on BOM and Change Request closure with Engineering. To manage the Max/Min system levels ensuring stock availability whilst avoiding obsolescence. Skills Required: Must have previous experience of working as a material controller. Buying experience. Previously worked in a manufacturing environment. Data analysis of stock to ensure accuracy. Stock reduction initiatives. Close relationship with other departments. Ability to adapt to uncertain/changing priorities. Attention to detail. Continued improvement in all aspects of the role. Salary: Competitive salary plus benefits.
