Overview

Highly regarded creative company have an excellent opportunity for a project accountant to join their dynamic and successful accounts team. This is a varied role that will focus on project reporting, developing key partnerships across departments with a strong focus on forecasting. You will be working closely with the Head of Finance and Management Accountant in a 'hands on’ role. The challenge, to be in charge of the latest project information. Project Reporting and Accounting Monitor and report progress of all projects monthly, quarterly and as required Meet regularly with divisional managers and project leaders to update, review and explain project and divisional financial information and to obtain latest information Produce work-in-progress reports, based on percentage complete method, and ensure revenue accurately recognised (in accordance with FRS102) Manage the unbilled stock/hours worked process, to ensure correct accounting treatment and prompt invoicing Produce performance reports for representatives at Board meeting Work closely with the Management Accountant to produce monthly management reports, ensuring month end deadlines are met Produce and develop annual departmental budgets, monitor and report against Prepare project variance analysis and rolling forecasts Assist in the preparation of the audit file and close liaison with auditors on project related queries Sales Ledger All aspects of sales ledger management Aged debt analysis and assist in collection of unpaid invoices Issue client statements of account, as required Supervise the procurement billing process and support the Assistant Accountant in ensuring HMRC compliance Systems Development Work closely with Ops Manager to develop the project accounting module and the reporting of key project information Encourage project leaders to update project information and to ensure that projects are appropriately resourced using the project accounting tool Qualification, experience and skills Part qualified (as a minimum) and studying towards full qualification. CIMA or equivalent professional qualification or QBE Minimum 2 years relevant experience in similar role Strong technical accounting skills Work in progress experience would be an advantage Strong reporting skills (presentation and relevance of information) Excel to advanced level Guidance on soft skills recommended to best perform role: Communication - strong aural and written skills, a "people person", ability to adjust style and tone to different people Team work - develop relationships, bridge gaps that often occur between finance and operational departments
