Job Description An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Logistics department, for a LOGISTICS ASSISTANT. As Logistics Assistant, you will work with the logistics manager to ensure well organised transportation of finished goods to storage and construction sites using third party haulers. You will liaise with production and planning colleagues to organise the timely transportation of materials and sub-assemblies between subcontractors and the Sigmat factory. Responsibilities include: · Development of internal and external relationships across the group · Inventory and Logistics Management · Trailer checks & updating Trailer Location Sheet · Liaising with Site Managers regarding delivery updates/Site delays · Update & circulate weekly transport list · Update KPIs & circulate (via spreadsheet) · Plan trailer exchanges into the Yard & Factory · Plan Sigmat vans with Sigmat driver and ensure vehicle is safe and roadworthy · Arrange collections · Raise manual delivery tickets · Request Purchase Orders · Prioritize any modifications of product · Comply with Sigmat quality procedures manual · Ensure 100% compliance to Company health and safety procedures · Carry out any other tasks commensurate with this post What we are looking for : · Previous experience in production, planning or logistics in a fast-paced manufacturing facility · A dynamic individual with a ‘can do,’ results driven approach and attitude · Excellent communication skills · A willingness to develop, learn and continually improve · Commercial awareness · The ability to think analytically and strategically · Planning and organisation skills · Good working knowledge and ability of Microsoft range, particularly Excel What you'll get in return: We're really proud of our benefits, we want to give our colleagues the best we can · Competitive salary, dependent on experience · 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays · Your birthday off · Company pension scheme, matching up to 5% · Company life assurance - three times your annual salary · Workplace nursery scheme · Cycle to work scheme · Mobile and technology loans · Travel season ticket loan · Access to Perkbox - an online discount platform · Free eye tests for VDU users · Friendly, modern working environment
