Up to £70,000 Superb Benefits Our client is a world leader in the design and development of remote/local/global control software and associated products. Their products are commonly found in multiple industries including government, transport, financial, medical and many more. The company has a very strong financial platform/position in the market (no debt, nor venture capital) - it is entirely privately owned and funded. The company is profitable and also boasts never having had a relational month down on sales. The company is proud to advise that have never made anyone redundant in their long tenure. They sell their products around the world and work with the latest hardware/software technology - most of which they engineer in house. Virtually all the work that their software engineers work on is focused on research and development - meaning that there is a very creative/innovative environment (which is strongly encouraged and financially rewarded). The company also has a range of patents for their technology - they also sell their products to other major manufacturers, who rebrand and sell on their goods. Their team are highly technical and work to a low level (all coding is in embedded C on Linux Debian). This is because their work is centred around best use of the memory where "every byte counts". Their engineers know, for example, how to build a kernel or a Linux operating system. Essential skills for this role include: - Coding skills in C Knowledge or understanding of network technology along with programming skills in Linux, Rest API, embedded Linux (network multimedia) Development/test/debug experience Experience of optimised database focused management systems Experience overseeing a small team & managing junior staff Networking skills (including networking and IP networks) Experience of Video and audio networking in distributed systems A degree from a good university in a related subject Any of the following desirable points will improve your application prospects:- Python, Ruby, Django, SNMP coding skills Previous experience of brokered WAN or Cloud systems Encryption techniques An understanding of network devices, users, groups, connection types, access rights, etc. Scrum/Agile experience This vacancy is being managed on behalf of the employer by Edgar Cowen who are acting as a Recruitment Agency.
