Lead Data Scientist - Salary to £100K - Plus Benefits - London - J11067 This senior role entails leading the Data Science remit with the Customer Team and the general analytical community whilst delivering best in class solutions and insight to answer commercial questions. You will be leading a team of 5 data scientists in a FMCG's environment, for a high street colossus, solving real-life business problems. A challenge you cant afford to miss bringing rewards associated with a market leader. Role & Responsibilities ·Prioritise a data science remit which aligns to business priorities and enable the company to grow/better serve its customer base. ·Use your expert knowledge of data science techniques and statistics to both lead and regularly deliver complex projects. ·Deliver high quality and actionable data science by performing ad hoc analysis. ·Lead the data science agenda within Customer Insight. ·Develop a long-term vision of the team, clearly demonstrate an expertise above and beyond current capabilities. ·Implement a highly visual and commercial approach when delivering data science projects. ·Champion/implement self-service and data-driven decisioning for the client base. ·Continuously scan and maintain a presence within the market for opportunities. Experience & Skills Required ·Educated to Degree level or higher in numerate subject is preferred e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research ·Have significant experience in landing data science capability, applying the most effective statistical /machine learning models on real world commercial problem. ·A team leader who has line manager experience with a high performing team ·A strong statistical background essential. ·Experience using both simple and complex statistical models a must. ·Demonstrate a comprehensive proficiency in key programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, R, SPARK, SQL, etc) and software development skills. ·Expert in mining large & complex data sets.
