Overview
Badoo is looking to expand our Site Reliability Engineering team as our user base continues to grow. Working in SRE means you’ll play your part in guaranteeing low latency, 100% reliable web services for 350 million users globally as a member of a highly professional team. RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB ROLE Participate in IT operations support as a part of SRE team to meet availability requirements Communicate with developers to make the development process and ongoing changes to the product as smooth as possible without compromising system stability Work closely with Monitoring team; react to, troubleshoot and fix whatever unexpected issues arise daily Manage resource usage and capacity for runtime environment Our tools and stack: Linux/SLES; Xcat/Puppet; Nginx/PHP/Java; MySQL, Memcached and MongoDB; Zabbix and Cacti; Dell and HP server hardware REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Extensive system administration experience (ideally 5 years, with emphasis on supporting web stacks) Knowledge of configuration management tools (our is Puppet) Solid knowledge of host-side TCP/IP stack Good understanding of Linux internals (in parts related to system administration) Advanced troubleshooting skills RDBS system knowledge desirable Knowledge of Bash essential; with additional programming skills desirable Knowledge of Russian language desirable (part of our team is located in Moscow, Russia) This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89793580
