Overview
Infrastructure Engineer (Azure, Powershell) Shipley £35K - £40K (Plus £6K on call, 1 in 4) My client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join a highly collaborative team. Working as part of a small team that collaborates and works alongside DBA's and Application Support/Development your role will be split between 50% project related work and 50% business day to day support. Supporting existing infrastructure in a predominantly virtualised environment, within ITIL best practise you will pro-actively work to prevent incidents and issues that affect service quality by responding to alerts flagged on the monitoring system. You will have responsibility for, and be expected to influence architectural improvements and assist the design and build phase of new environments. Any experience with Azure would be highly advantageous, however other Cloud and Virtualisation technology skills will be considered. Proven ability with Sysadmin is essential and coming from a similar role. Other accountability and tasks will include, but not be limited to; Server administration, Managing VM'S, Manage Firewall rules, capacity management, general 3rd line support. It is imperative that you are highly analytical and a good team player that can take ownership of tasks and projects, getting involved with all aspects including data management. Key skills; Windows Server (2008R2, 2012, 2016) Experience with virtualised and cloud environments, ideally Azure but VMware, Hyper etc… will also be considered Virtual Networks Active Directory PaaS Sysadmin experience High Availability Disaster recovery Desirable skills; PowerShell Azure certifications (such as Administrator associate) .NET T-SQL Scripting Cosmos Raven DB The role does also have a 1 in 4 on call rota paying £6K on top of the basic annual salary with excellent remuneration and minimal call out.
