Overview

Head of Procurement required for rapidly growing company based West of Swansea. This is seen as a key strategic role within the company's global business and hence a senior appointment. As the Head of Procurement Operations, you will be the key exponent of the supply chain strategy, ensuring quality, delivery and cost savings driving company share value. You will be experienced within the utilities sector, specifically with engineering and/or capital equipment and will boast a wide network of supplier and client-based contacts. You will be an ambitious and driven individual, required to travel globally to source the industries best technologies, services and intellectual property. The role will involve: Procurement & Contract Management at a project level, delivering KPIs to meet project targets and deliver shareholder value. Managing key stakeholder relationships to assure the timely delivery of equipment and services aligned to project demands. Work closely with Business Development and Project Managers to match equipment and services to requirement. Ensuring economic, environmental and ethical risks are assessed and appropriately mitigated across the supply chain, throughout the sourcing lifecycle Ensuring sourcing initiatives are delivered in compliance with current regulations and Internal Governance Identify process bottlenecks and implement solutions in a timely manner. Capturing all benefits and achieve target savings to allow budget adjustments to be realised. Recognise the importance of quality throughout the cost saving initiatives. You will ensure accurate ordering, timely delivery, value for money and agreeable terms Managing and maintaining all sourcing reporting obligations as required Skills and experience You will be a clear communicator and team player who enables others to perform and has a demonstrated ability to use the skills of others to deliver results You will have the resilience & drive to achieve results through experience, determination and commitment Critical thinker and problem-solving skills Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company success. You will have a comprehensive understanding of the implications of relevant legislation in Procurement. requirement to travel worldwide Comprehensive understanding and application of the use of the Microsoft Office suite is required for the role.
