The Company Overview: Butler Rose have partnered exclusively with a thriving SME business on the outskirts of Preston who are looking to appoint an experienced Head of Finance. Established for 50 years, my client boasts an excellent reputation in the niche sector in which they operate. This is a pivotal appointment as you will be instrumental in driving continued growth and success of the business through supporting the Board of Directors with strategic planning activities, whilst taking ownership of the accounting operation for all sites. Your new role as Head of Finance: Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will manage a small team of 3 junior finance staff and be responsible for their training and development. This role offers an excellent level of autonomy with many areas to add value to the wider business, but given the size of the team you will remain very hands on with day to day accounting duties. You will own all aspects of financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting; produce timely management accounts; prepare statutory accounts, being the primary point of contact for associated external bodies. As Head of Finance, you will partner closely with all Heads of Departments to ensure that the strategy and goals of the business are achieved, by providing appropriate analysis and identification and recommendation of business opportunities. The Experience & Qualifications Required: To be considered, you will be fully qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) and proven in a number 1 finance role, used to working in a fast paced and ever changing environment. You will have strong commercial acumen with the ability to challenge and influence in a constructive and engaging manner at a senior level. Strong leadership skills are essential and you will be systems orientated with the ability to identify and implement improvements.
