The department consists of: Rand hubs - set the strategy for our brands and are responsible for ensuring they achieve commercial targets The Content team - is responsible for the production of all of our content and assuring it is of the highest quality on all of our sites and ensuring they meet their organic traffic and revenue targets The SEO team - is responsible for setting the SEO strategy and for implementing technical SEO changes on all of our websites. They are also responsible for delivering industry-leading link building campaigns. The Role The Editor will have complete ownership of one of MVF’s Publishing brand hubs and be accountable for commercial performance. Working closely with the divisional MDs and Publishing Director to agree business goals and performance targets the Editor will set the publishing strategy for their website and ensure this is delivered with a view to increasing organic search traffic and revenue. This role will put you in a pioneering position at MVF - as you’ll have an influence on how we develop our conversion funnels and monetisation models. Responsibilities: Own and drive the content strategy for one of (or a small portfolio of) MVF’s brands. Devise a Publishing brand strategy to achieve or exceed business targets across revenue streams. Own the GP performance of the site and ensure targets are hit Have ownership of the website and build a roadmap with functional teams (Content, SEO, CRO & Tech) outlining initiatives to deliver strategy via key milestones. Communicate roadmap & strategy to key stakeholders Use data from STAT, Google Analytics and keyword research tools to develop the content strategy. Create and commission briefs for new articles, updates and re-writes for the content team to deliver. Present regular updates on performance. Submit initiatives and timelines to functional teams (Content, SEO, CRO & Tech) to ensure adequate resource allocation. Monitor performance and progress of initiatives. Coordinate brand and functional team to ensure efficient workflow delivery Drive momentum on projects and ensure clear communication between all contributors. Obtain deep knowledge of industry niche and vertical landscape, trends and market forces. Work with MDs, Commercial Heads and key clients to build customer success into a strategy. Work with the Brand and Design teams to create new innovative page designs that improve user experience and have a positive impact on the website’s engagement metrics. Act as the Product Owner for the brand. What Success Looks Like Commercial strategy achieves core business goals Content strategy drives increased volumes of high-value organic search traffic Performance meets or exceeds targets Long term brand vision is well balanced with short term performance Most effective levers to accelerate performance identified and actioned Brand hub is extremely motivated and output is high Our Ideal MVFer: Highly commercially astute Proven content strategy experience, with significant time in a leadership role Proven track record of developing innovative original content Proven experience managing a website and growing organic traffic and revenue Deep understanding of many types of content - product reviews, how-to guides, breaking news, features, investigative, trends etc. A good understanding of how organic search and social media work Proven history of working collaboratively - and successfully - across departments, including Product & Tech, Data, Sales, Marketing, Outreach & PR Acting as a brand evangelist who understands the mission and core values of MVF and is able to represent its sites across TV, digital, radio, and other public forums Ability to interpret data, audience insights and analytics to inform coverage decisions and meet goals Highly driven and motivated What We Offer You Competitive salary and ample opportunity for growth and development.
