Job Summary The Account Manager/Senior Account Manager is responsible for managing a client account effectively and profitably by planning for and organising all areas relevant to development and execution of projects. This includes regular client contact, ensuring the smooth day to day running of the account, financial management and ensuring great creative ideas are executed professionally and deployed successfully through the clients brands key markets. Reporting into and Account Director, the AM/SAM will be given the responsibility to run their own projects whilst supporting the Account Director and agency Senior Management. The AM/SAM will be responsible for managing and mentoring junior team members. Key Responsibilities Management Set a positive example to your team in all aspects of your work and professional behaviour. Manage and mentor your junior team ensuring they are equipped with the required knowledge and tools to deliver their daily duties. Oversee the professional development of your team by identifying career development and training opportunities that will help them progress into competent account handlers. Client / Inter-Agency Relationships Develop and nurture strong, effective relationships with the key stakeholders on the client account, ensuring regular client contact and maintaining professional relationships with all levels that you are exposed to. Be able to diplomatically challenge the client and the agency hubs with reasoned arguments and thinking. Manage upwards effectively and provide regular and accurate update and status reports to your internal senior team, as required. Actively foster respectful, productive and supportive working relationships at all levels within the client and Agency organisations. Project Management Follow the agency processes to ensure jobs are efficiently and successfully managed. Ensure effective briefs are created and signed off by the client and relevant teams are effectively briefed. Work closely with Creative Services and other internal partners to ensure timescales/budgets are met on all jobs. Manage quality control of all aspects and output of the account team including written and verbal communication. Meet and surpass the quality expectations of the Agency. Financial Management Maintaining a solid and accurate financial process ensuring efficient utilisation of time, punctual invoicing, third party purchases and reporting. Create and manage projects on the company’s financial software package including forecasting and budgeting. Demonstrate cost awareness on jobs being managed and raise any concerns to line manager. Take responsibility for the financial target of the account being managed. Strive to deliver above and beyond the targeted figures. Client Knowledge Cultivate and maintain a thorough and in-depth knowledge of the Client’s business and how it operates and be able to gather information effectively and quickly in support of the factual detail of each brief. Keep up to date competitor, customer and marketplace reviews, both executional and strategic. You This role requires an ambitious professional, positive and high-energy individual with great people skills. Someone who works hard but has fun with it. You should have meticulous attention to detail, establishing yourself as a safe pair of hands to get stuck in on a variety of projects and the day-to-day support of your accounts. We are looking for someone with a strong, demonstrable background in retail brand activation and shopper marketing with experience in working with leading FMCG brands. We’re keen to talk to candidates with an obvious thirst to learn. A proven track record of work going live in grocery, convenience, event spaces, digital and e-commerce channels will be key. You will also understand the elements required to execute a campaign from client brief, to concept, to design, production and deployment and know how to work with retailer guidelines, deadlines and delivery methods.
