Overview
My long established international client are looking to recruit a Product Designer in Gloucester. Reporting to the Lead Product Designer, you will be a developing member of the internal design team working closely with both external customers and our commercial and production resources to edit customer specific print designs and create and develop innovative structural packaging solutions for a wide range of industries including, but not limited to, automotive, pharmaceutical, construction and retail. Your role and responsibilities: Create and edit commercial image layouts in accordance with production print capabilities and liaise directly with the customer ensure customer expectations are met Develop and maintain practical industry specific structural design knowledge via the production of high quality customer samples and prototypes to satisfy projects being managed by the existing Product Designers. Coordinate design improvements resulting from customers’ assessment of physical product samples and compile production ready drawings and tooling specifications. Progressively develop the knowledge and skills to produce your own basic structural packaging designs and translate these into physical product samples for ultimate customer approval. Develop to ultimately Interpret, interrogate and understand the requirements of basic structural design briefs via proactive communication with our external sales team prior to estimating realistic and achievable works schedules for the associated projects’ outputs. Your skills and experience: Ideally we are looking for a graduate with a design related degree or qualification, we will also consider candidates who have relevant experience but no qualification You will bring enthusiasm, organisation skills and confident communication skills along with the desire to learn and grow Practical experience of, or a keen desire to develop the skills for, the use of software packages such as ArtiosCAD, Solidworks, Illustrator and Photoshop.
