Drives to be World Class Works Smart and Delivers Fast Loves Innovation Helps Other Succeed Earns Trust Inspires Positivity Our Team The Publishing team is responsible for all of MVF’s websites and is tasked with making sure they are all operating at a world-class standard in terms of quality and performance. The department consists of: Rand hubs - set the strategy for our brands and are responsible for ensuring they achieve commercial targets. The Content team - is responsible for the production of all of our content and assuring it is of the highest quality on all of our sites and ensuring they meet their organic traffic and revenue targets. The SEO team - is responsible for setting the SEO strategy and for implementing technical SEO changes on all of our websites. They are also responsible for delivering industry-leading link building campaigns. The Role The Deputy Editor will work closely with the Editor to define the overall strategy for the brand website and ensure this is delivered with a goal of achieving commercial business targets. Together with the Editor, the Deputy Editor will ensure a world-class content strategy is set and that there is a content pipeline for the content team to deliver. They coordinate with technical SEO, tech, marketing operations, video and outreach teams to execute and deliver the brand roadmap. This role is crucial to the smooth running of each publishing brand and requires strong organisation, communication and project management skills. It is a central role with significant strategic and operational value. Responsibilities: Support the Editor to devise a Publishing brand strategy to achieve or exceed business targets across revenue streams. Commission articles that have a high strategic value and enable the team to achieve its commercial and brand goals. Use data from STAT, Google Analytics and keyword research tools to develop the content strategy. Coordinate with stakeholders working on the website from around the business (SEO, PR, Brand, CRO, Tech). Support the Editor in setting the highest editorial standards for the brand. Work with the CRO team to deliver identified tests. Coordinate with the Technical SEO team to ensure all content is optimised for commercial search strategy and support the delivery of high-value SEO projects that will improve the website. Experience in handling multiple concurrent projects and task lists. Deep understanding of many types of content - product reviews, how-to guides, breaking news, features, investigative, trends etc. Good understanding of organic search. Proven ability to create content briefs that deliver high-quality results. Proven history of working collaboratively - and successfully - across departments, including Product & Tech, Data, Sales, Marketing, Outreach & PR. Strong communication skills to keep all stakeholders informed about content production projects. Passion for delivery of strategic milestones.
