Lead Data Engineer - London - £75,000 A strategy and communications agency are looking to hire an experienced Data Engineer. They are helping businesses achieve better results by combining the power of the creative human mind and cutting-edge technology to identify opportunities and devise data driven marketing strategies, content and campaigns that are targeted to their audience. They need an experienced Data Engineer to build a data store from scratch that pulls in data from numerous different platforms in real time and then searches, gathers and presents the data in a summarised format. You will mainly be working with data about user engagement, sales, brand sentiment and consumer behavior in general to help clients understand their marketing campaigns and steer the strategy to achieve better results and improve efficiency. A big part of this role will involve optimising how the data is collected and the dataflow so the team can transform results into actionable insights that are capable of driving business change. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining visually stimulating dashboards from scratch into JavaScript applications that bring the data to life and communicate clearly the findings to clients. You'll be helping to build and support great products whilst shaping the data vision and strategy across the company helping each client maximize the data available and deliver informed, targeted and creative strategies Responsibilities Build and maintain a greenfield data warehouse from scratch adhering to best practice data pipelines from scratch, implementing ETL processes and ensuring optimum efficiency Ensure the data store has a strong analytical capability that is scalable Implement practices that guarantee data quality, data management and data governance Build web applications that can host dashboards Grow a team around you to incorporate AI tools that enhance the service Requirements Must be experienced in building data pipelines and ETL processes Strong knowledge in data modelling & warehousing Strong data wrangling know-how Extensive knowledge of SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL/T-SQL/BigQuery) Knowledge of web technologies is a bonus (JavaScript) Experience with Big Data Technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Redshift, Teradata etc.) The Company This business is a start-up that have just received a round of funding so are looking to move into the next phase of growing their business.
