Overview
Head of Development Location: Milton Keynes Job Description: Our established agency client is seeking an experienced Head of Development to join their team on a permanent basis. The purpose of the Head of Development role will be to play an active part in the entire marketing project process, beginning with strategic and expert guidance and decision-making in the planning stages. The Head of Development candidate will be a problem solver, whose goal is to always develop innovative and technically sound digital productions. You will be responsible for the output of your team. Main Responsibilities: Breaking down large scale projects into manageable chunks Working out which tech platforms to use based on cost benefit analysis and research Briefing designers/developers project requirements and overseeing the progress Ensuring the quality of projects Design and documentation of complex technical solutions as required Advocacy of industry best-practices throughout all stages of the project life cycle Development of core project deliverables Mentoring and training of a development team working across web, email and MA programmes Performing health checks and testing to ensure quality in all project deliverables Essential Skills: Advanced PHP, HTML, CSS, MySQL, JavaScript knowledge Strong LAMP stack knowledge and experience Experience of Content Management Systems such as Drupal/WordPress Solid experience overseeing medium to large scale digital projects Experience of solutions design and/or system architecture Solid understanding of Object Oriented programming and MVC frameworks such as Zend/Symfony2 Proficient knowledge of front-end performance testing and optimization techniques Strong understanding of email and MA platforms including Eloqua, Marketo, Hubspot and Pardot Thorough understanding of performance and scalability Experience of team management and motivation Key Words: Web development, Head of Development, digital marketing FS1 Recruitment is a UK-based recruitment agency providing solutions within the Sales, Marketing and Creative fields for permanent, freelance and contract positions please contact us to discuss one of our many positions.
