Overview

Interim Comms Manager (Band 7) Our NHS client is looking to recruit an Interim Communications Manager to assist the team amidst Covid 19 Situation. The Comms manager will help develop an internal communications programme to enhance staff communications and awareness of the corporate, strategic and business decisions affecting the organisation. Lead on advising on, developing and delivering internal communications plans for change programmes in conjunction with the Strategy and Transformation team. Location : Kettering Temporary : Expected to last 4 months with possible extension Hours per week : 37.5 hours per week Salary: Upto £ 24 (Umbrella) or £21 per hour (PAYE) Support in the development and management of the Trust’s reputation and in enabling our staff to act as well-informed ambassadors of the Trust by developing and delivering staff engagement initiatives. Develop and produce a range of staff and stakeholder communications including website, intranet and social media Manage and maintain a two-way internal communications process to inform Trust strategy and decisions Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with Divisional and corporate teams that support the delivery of an effective communications function for the Trust. Work to embed a commitment to the importance of strong communications across the organisation Create an environment which enhances the work experience of our staff. Define and develop the Trust’s key internal and external audiences and stakeholders, identify the key decision makers, and deliver internal and external communication initiatives to promote the corporate objectives and business decisions of the Trust Monitor and manage the performance of the communication officers and to provide mentoring and training on a regular basis. Co-ordinate and control the design and printing of internal and external publications and materials. Work within Trust's policies, the Freedom of Information Act, Patient Confidentiality and Caldicott principles to manage information requests. Provide a consultancy and advice service with regards to communications and media relations to senior managers. Manage external agencies for design, print and other promotional services The Communications Manager will also promote the Trust in the media, with health partners, patients, and in the wider public arena - this will include: Acting as a press officer to generate local and national media interest in the Trust. Developing communication opportunities with influential people. Organising events for staff, patients, the public, the media, businesses and other external stakeholders Ensuring that the content and style of printed literature is accurate, easy to read and relevant. Ensuring communications activity supports the Trust strategic objectives and CARE values. Advising and influencing senior members of the Trust on the appropriate approach for communications. Developing close working relationships with key journalists in order to influence appropriate media cover on sensitive issues.
