Job description: We are pleased to represent Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Services (BFRS) in an exciting new opportunity as a Head of Programme Management Office (PMO) Technology and Transformation. This is a permanent role paying up to £64, 976 plus benefits based in Aylesbury. BFRS are looking for a dynamic and inspirational individual, with proven leadership ability and who thrives on working within a team that delivers organisational change. The Head of PMO, Technology and Transformation will provide a key role in the strategic leadership of BFRS ensuring they continue to be the most transformational, forward thinking and highest performing Service in the country. Key responsibilities: Reporting into the Director of Finance & Assets you will lead the Programme Management Office (PMO), ensuring that any prospective projects/ programmes are evaluated thoroughly, deliver value for money and contribute towards the Authority’s strategic objectives. The post will also need to ensure that all current projects/ programmes are co-ordinated and prioritised and work with project managers to deliver projects/ programmes within agreed timelines and budgets. This post will hold a position on the Senior Management Team and have a significant input on the strategic direction of the Service. The post will also have overall responsibility for Communications, ICT and Data Intelligence, ensuring these departments are operating efficiently and effectively. Establishing and running the Programme Management Office with the objective of ensuring all projects, across the Service, are delivered using a 'best-practice’ project delivery approach and are delivered within the agreed scope, time, cost and quality. Development and implementation of the Services’ communication and consultation strategies, to meet the expectation of internal/ external stakeholders; ensuring proactive media relations. Key skills Must have a strong background of leading large teams across Communications, Data Intelligence and Programme Management and able to deliver on strategies for each team in a complex environment. To lead on the provision of the Performance Management Systems; Corporate internal and external communications, Information Technology (IT); Data Intelligence and delivering projects and programmes through the Programme Management Office. Ability to work with a number of Fire and Rescue stakeholders internally and other public bodies where projects/programmes involve multiple partners. Experience in analysis, implantation and evaluation of IT systems and their specification on legislation and regulations. Significant experience of working within a performance management role, PMO function of driving strategy and policy formulation with knowledge and experience of delivering improving efficiency and effectiveness.
