SENIOR MARKETING EXECUTIVE - EVENTS & EXHIBITIONS - BEDFORDSHIRE - UP TO £35K An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, passionate and experienced marketer to join a market-leading and award-winning exhibitions organiser. There is amazing career progression on offer and the candidate will be a part of a well-established team. The candidate will be in charge of all UK events' marketing strategy and execution while managing 1 direct report. The successful applicant will report directly to the company’s UK Portfolio Director and work closely with them to deliver record attendance to the UK shows assigned. SENIOR MARKETING EXECUTIVE - The candidate… The candidate will be a passionate career-marketer, able to demonstrate a holistic understanding of modern marketing techniques and with proven 'hands-on’ experience in event marketing. The company doesn't outsource to marketing agencies; they employ talented individuals with the skillsets to keep their marketing in-house. The candidate must have a proactive 'can do’ approach, a flair for design, able to work under pressure and be enthused by the opportunity of 'owning’ and controlling the destiny of their events, and assuming all the associated responsibilities that come with it. As such, the candidate will be highly confident, organised, creative, technically proficient and commercially-minded. They must be competent at working independently, whilst always remaining a team player and understanding the acute need for all events disciplines (marketing, sales, operations) to work cohesively in order to deliver great shows. The chosen candidate will be an enthusiastic 'student of marketing’, i.e. they understand that marketing never stands still and, therefore, fully embrace constant change and proactively stay abreast of marketing trends and their application to events. A talent for 'relationship marketing’ is essential. The candidate must have the understanding, ability, and confidence to research and find relevant third parties that could aid show marketing objectives, then make an approach, build, manage and maintain mutually-beneficial partnerships. SENIOR MARKETING EXECUTIVE - The role The role will initially focus on two growing consumer event brands in multiple UK locations, plus one niche trade event brand. All these events have exciting futures and require the right marketing professional to 'own’ and drive them forward, ensuring they fulfill their significant potential. The role also encompasses speaker sourcing and onsite content management for these events. SENIOR MARKETING EXECUTIVE - The responsibilities, skills and attributes Design and implement visitor and exhibitor marketing & PR strategy, with the primary objective of driving ticket registrations and onsite conversion. Full brand/marketing ownership for the event brands assigned (initially two B2C in multiple locations, plus one B2B). Line management of Marketing Exec (and any new marketing recruits). Join the company’s senior management team. Plan and write (or approve) all show marketing copy across all platforms, including websites, social media, digital marketing, press releases and email campaigns (HTML, Outlook, third party partners). Design, maintain and develop all relevant event websites. Research, negotiate and manage multiple contra deals with relevant media partners, associations, charities and individuals/influencers. Research, negotiate and manage deals with relevant suppliers Build, manage and own marketing budgets (and delivery of campaigns to budget). Activate all marketing deliverables within signed sponsor, partner and exhibitor agreements. Source speakers for content theatres, plus develop and maintain relationships with these key industry figures and influencers. Own and evolve effective engaged social media platforms for all event brands, as well as digital marketing elements of marketing campaigns. Analyse the success of campaign elements continuously and produce weekly board reports on ticket registrations and other marketing KPIs, ensuring targets are met. Identify advertising opportunities within the show sectors, then negotiate costs and implement them. Own, manage and evolve visitor registration process for all events (in collaboration with third-party registration provider). Via the registration process and show surveys, harness and advance statistical understanding of the show’s audience profile for sales and marketing applications. Produce promotional artwork for campaigns (strong working knowledge of Photoshop / InDesign). Assume the role of company’s 'Data Controller’, managing B2C and B2B data for relevant shows, with a full understanding and adherence to GDPR and data best practice. Produce hard copy marketing materials (liaising with printers, proofreading and deadline delivery), such as show guides and show flyers. Be a proactive 'student’ of marketing; keeping abreast of marketing developments (reading relevant magazines, e-communications and attending relevant events) with a view to reviewing potential new marketing channels for the business. Computer literate (Microsoft Office). Confident on the phone and in meeting environments.
