As Head of Finance you will lead and manage the college finance team to provide a professional service to a wide range of stakeholders, providing governance and training on finance and University processes as appropriate. With art at the heart of their business, the company seek a Head of Finance with broad range of public sector knowledge, specially education, who can take control and manage the entire finance department. Description The Head of Finance will be required to lead the finance team and drive a culture of financial transparency and accountability. To Understand the needs of the executive team and ensure that the finance team are delivering appropriate information, advice and support. The successful position holder will lead the annual budget process and subsequent forecasts in line with the central Finance timetables providing timely budgeting and forecasting information to the senior management team. They will contribute to business planning by providing business intelligence and financial analysis to inform, guide and improve decision making. The ability to manage the development of new course costing modelling and financial planning tools is a necessity. The Head of Finance is responsible for the provide a comprehensive financial business partnering service, to provide a balanced approach of constructive challenge to the executive and senior managers to ensure that all budgets and planned targets are achievable and drive value. Building successful networks and relationships that contribute to the strategy, is a fundamental element of this role, ensuring there are strong links with the Central Finance teams. The candidate will be expected to develop and provide accurate, timely and comprehensive financial management information packs on a monthly basis. To engage with the annual costing analysis to provide accurate and timely information to ensure continue improvement and streamlining of the process. Additionally, to Develop and ensure adherence to month-end and year-end timetable and ensure month-end adjustments are completed to the highest standard. Profile The Head of Finance will have a proven track record in providing leadership and management of a finance team, organising priorities and ensuring continuous improvement and development of team members. Experience of working with large data sets with the ability to write and develop financial reports using excel at advanced level is essential. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering the best possible solution when creating the financial planning and budget setting. The successful applicant will be based in Central London or able to commute to develop a unique opportunity. Other background essentials include: Degree or relevant qualification in area of expertise Qualified with a recognised Accounting Body (CIMA, ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA or equivalent) Uses appropriate levels of IT Skills to enable the best use of available information and communications for post including MS Office: Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook (Excelerator highly desirable) Job Offer Up to £55 000 plus additional benefits City of London commute Exposure to a well-established Not-for-Profit organisation Grow knowledge and understanding of the Education sector
