Overview
37 hours per week Dacorum Borough Council has recognised the need to address the effects of Climate Change on our planet and has set itself an ambitious target of becoming a Carbon Neutral Council by 2030. Whilst we have a good track record of action on climate change, we recognise that there is a lot more work to be done. We have recently declared a Climate Emergency and you will play a key role in developing policy, translating it into practice and providing expert advice to other services, customers and our partners. We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable professional with expertise working in environmental sustainability, climate change policy, carbon and energy management and that they have the communication skills, innovation and drive to deliver our ambition. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, creative and environmentally minded individual to work as part of our dynamic Team. You will: • Work in partnership across the Council, external organisations, the local community and agencies • Monitor and report on the progress of strategies and action plans in working towards becoming a net carbon neutral Council and Borough. • Develop and implement low carbon projects across the Possess excellent research, investigative and communication skills.
