Overview

Our client are a leading talent development agency, creative producer, music educator and consultancy specialising in jazz. They nurture nascent talent and help aspiring young artists discover their magic, achieve creative ambitions, and build engaged, diverse audiences. They champion diversity, inclusion and equality. Whilst inclusive, their pioneering Young Artist Development Programme primarily supports the early careers of young musicians from BAME backgrounds, female musicians and those whose financial or other circumstances might lock them out of opportunities to pursue a career in the music industry. Purpose of role: To support the Directors/SMT in raising awareness of the work and promote the organisation and its work. To lead the development of a strategic marketing plan To organise and attend events to achieve agreed strategies To be proactive in the identification, cultivation and stewardship of new and existing donors To oversee all aspects of the communication channels ensuring the message and quality of communications is maintained Outline of main duties: Marketing and Strategy Management and Planning Sales and Reporting Finance and funding Development Person Specification : An experienced and self-motivated person is needed to fulfil this role. The successful applicant will be creative and committed to making a difference in an important area of our operations. The candidate will be expected to occasionally work unsocial hours and weekends if necessary. Key requirements - Skills, Knowledge and Experience Solid in a similar role with a proven track record of working with donors and corporate sponsors Knowledgeable about different donor engagement strategies Experience of developing and delivering a marketing strategy Computer literate having a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, knowledge of Apple publishing software would also be useful Able to work well with a team and on own initiative Excellent written communication skills Be a confident face to face communicator Have an understanding and with good knowledge of the arts and music sectors Be flexible and be able to work unsocial hours when required Have experience of dealing with the media Excellent interpersonal skills and an excellent rapport builder Comfortable speaking at public events Desirable Able to start immediately or as soon as possible Experience of working in diversity Knowledge of the not for profit sector Experience working in the commercial music industry For a more detailed spec please get in touch asap.
