Overview
Role: Marketing Effectiveness Manager Location : Central London Salary : £50,000 to £65,000 (pro-rata) benefits Term : 9 month fixed term contract What’s the best way to measure the effectiveness of a firms marketing spend? How would you test this to ensure things are always effectively optimised? Especially if it were for a multi-brand organisation who’s also one of the UK’s biggest multi-channels marketing spenders… If you know this and are available at relatively short notice, you might find this opportunity working for a brand owner appealing. THE ROLE You’d initially be responsible for helping finalise decisions around the company’s media investment strategy across 2020/21. Deciding the balance between brand and performance marketing channels for each brand. Pulling this into a consistent story backed by data which you can sell-in to the firm’s key leadership teams for each area. Demonstrating the why behind the strategy, in numbers. Throughout the year there will be questions arising from across the exec leadership and marketing functions, looking for tactical opportunities to adapt the plan in order to achieve business objectives, optimising performance whilst not losing sight of the bigger picture strategic agenda. To give a sense of understanding, you need to set up and own a series of dashboards giving a snapshot of what’s happening with marketing spend along with your recommendations. There will be agencies supporting you, doing the heavy lifting analysis with things like channel attribution modelling and econometrics. You’d handle their briefing and help to decide the ‘best practice’ approach to ensure alignment and consistency of measurement and results across each of the company’s consumer brands. The terms for this engagement is initially scheduled for 9 month to cover maternity, with a view to potentially extending. KEY EXPERIENCE NEEDED A solid pedigree within marketing effectiveness, media analysis or econometrics is required as this is a highly analytical role An effective storyteller from data findings, articulate and confident presenting to senior business leaders Pro-active nature, comfortable engaging with large stakeholder groups. Going out to a business to find needs, rather than waiting for it to come to you Have worked with similarly big budgeted, sophisticated marketing programmes which cover multi-channel brand and performance marketing environments.
