Overview

Purpose of the role: Create, maintain and optimise product and category content for our UK customers for the UK brands across digital channels to drive increased response, conversion, AOV and turnover and excellence in customer experience. Manage the product production processes for all digital channels within scheduled production timescales. Main Responsibilities: Digital Merchandising and Product Positioning: Writing new and optimising existing product content to improve conversion rates and customers’ shopping experience. Manage the merchandising of products (existing and new), appropriately for catalogue and web, so that each product is positioned, priced correctly and optimised (photography, copy, customer information, indexing, SEO, attribute management and key-phrase searchable) to maximise sales. Follow brand and merchandising guidelines to create a consistent and detailed presentation of products and help to set and enforce these guidelines. Work with the Ecommerce Marketing Manager and Digital marketing agency to implement the on-site SEO key word strategy by updating product copy; URLs; meta descriptions; meta titles; alt tags; internal link building; dual listings and canonical tags. Maintain and build website navigation and taxonomy to improve the usability of the website and increase conversion. Ensure all products are merchandised within the correct product categories, shops etc. Proof-read web pages and correct any errors or out-of-date information. Manage onsite search (SOLR) and product sorting rules to deliver more relevant results to customers, increasing the conversion rate. Work with the Product Category Managers to get accurate product content from suppliers. Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and analyse website performance using Google Analytics and keyword monitoring tools. Analyse product sales and customer numbers to optimise the sales of the websites. Other Duties: Present new products and web updates to the sales teams and other departments as and when required. Attend supplier product training sessions as required to develop product knowledge and skills. Skills and Experience Required: Be proficient in writing clear, concise, persuasive and grammatically correct copy as well as editing/proofing skills for online media. Good knowledge of SEO/SEM merchandising and web content management. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in web merchandising, proofreading and copywriting.
