INTRODUCTION An exciting opportunity to work for a cutting-edge organisation that is responsible for delivering a greener, safer, more attractive, cultured and better-connected town centre for Hammersmith. The person will assist in delivering and contributing to the overall marketing, communications and events strategy, including specialised input into PR and communications, marketing and website and putting Hammersmith on the map. ABOUT US Hammersmith Business Improvement District (BID) is a democratically elected, business-led and business-funded body, formed to improve a defined commercial area. First established in 2006, it is one of the oldest BIDs in the country, which has also successfully renewed its mandate in March 2011 and then again in March 2016. A multi-award-winning Bid, Hammersmith Bid has been broadly recognised as one of the best in the country and works to the highest industry standards. The team at Hammersmith BID work in close partnership with various public, community and private organisations including the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, the Greater London Authority, Metropolitan Police and Transport for London (TfL). MAIN DUTIES: Events: Assist and help to deliver and facilitate all BID events Instructing and managing third party suppliers Contributing to the BID’s overarching marketing strategy Provide promotional publicity for all BID events Create and deliver marketing material for events Create Feedback reports for all BID events E-News, E-shots : Assist and help to write the monthly e-news bulletin Assist and help to create weekly e-shots in conjunction with third party graphic designer Distribute using the company database and email software Ensure appropriate messages re BID’s activities and achievements are delivered Website: Create vibrant content for the company website Update the Company website Oversee team members’ content Social Media: Liaise and instruct third party agency Maintain a relevant presence across all BID platforms daily App: Maintain and update company app Marketing Literature and collateral : Write and edit marketing literature Oversee the design, production and effective distribution of material Instructing and managing third party suppliers Support communications & marketing for all BID project areas B2B PR: Assist and help BID Communication Strategy to connect with BID businesses Ensure businesses are informed of BID activity Create the content for various industry, town and governmental awards Ensure appropriate messages re BID’s activities and achievements are delivered Promote the Company to stakeholders Campaigns: Help to create and produce innovative campaigns to promote Hammersmith Deliver ongoing campaigns Third Parties: Liaise closely with other press offices Coordinate and manage third party suppliers Database: Assist with overall responsibility for the update and maintenance of the company database Work closely with the team to provide robust and substantial data Reports: Support communications for board meeting Do Survey reports on a periodic basis EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Suitable candidates will be educated to a degree level. You will have good communication skills, an eye for detail, an ability to work with the public and the confidence to work in isolation. ESSENTIAL SKILLS Enthusiastic, keen and quick to learn with an attention to detail Can work independently and as part of a team Possess sound judgement to refer up where necessary First class copywriter Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relations Experience of independently drafting documents (reports, surveys, presentations) Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing with tact and sensitivity Degree or equivalent experience to meet the requirements of the post Ability to work alongside with any consultants the Company may employ Effective time management and organisational skills Ability to use own initiative with confidence Flexible approach to changing priorities and requirements Strong IT skills, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel & PowerPoint
