Overview

Our client is the leading content and information provider for a global industry and are looking for an experienced Editor with a science or B2B background to Plan and manage the content and production of their print magazine. The role is based primarily in their Truro office but with a firm remit to travel regularly on business trips to events and client offices, our client are looking for an Editor to further its rapid and exciting growth since launch. The Science Magazine Editor role will include: -Planning and managing the content and production of the print magazine -Regularly uploading content to the website -Mandatory travel commitments - at least six significant trips per calendar year (non-negotiable), geared around attendance of flagship events and invaluable client site visits (relationship building) -Generating must-read, value-added content from own research, writing and sourced comment and contributing to the business’ target to grow its paid-for subscriber base -Establishing great professional relationships with senior, market-leading business people to report on this dynamic and fast-moving sector -Establishing and managing relationships with PR contacts/agencies, as well as the Editorial Advisory Board -Working closely with the publishing and sales teams to maximise the reach -Identifying key industry trends and creating an annual editorial calendar The Science Magazine Editor will have: -Excellent writing and interviewing skills -Degree in Journalism, Communications or related field -An outgoing personality, as comfortable dealing with CEOs and CFOs as with technology and exploration professionals -No faint hearts - regular travel away from home is imperative to the role Confident communication and interpersonal skills -Demonstrable previous experience in the role of magazine editor (preferred) or at senior level, showing an ability to write, commission and process content to deadlines -Proficiency in MS Office, and content management systems (preferred) In return you will receive a competitive salary, dependent on experience and an annual salary review. 23 days annual holiday plus public holidays and childcare voucher scheme.
