Overview

An exciting opportunity has become available within the business development department to lead on the functional skills aspects of our apprenticeships offer and to further develop the digital apprenticeship standards. The successful candidate will line manage a dedicated team of tutors and assessors supporting them to further develop new initiatives to make functional skills and apprenticeships more accessible to a wider audience. They will be expected to provide reports to senior management and develop strategies to ensure the provision for functional skills remains ahead of the game in accessibility and flexible learning. The successful candidate will have a passion for learning, and aspire to provide a first rate experiences for individuals, with a wide range of abilities, wanting to develop maths, English and ICT skills. The digital offer at the college is currently in its infancy, the successful candidate will take the lead in developing this provision to become outstanding, ensuring Cheshire College - South & West become the provider of choice for employers across the North West. A qualification in a relevant subject is required and additionally, the successful candidate will have recent vocational experience in either the management/delivery of functional skills, or working within the digital industry. Additional qualifications in assessment and internal verification would be advantageous. The post will service all three campuses additionally there is an expectation that delivery can take place at employers premises as required. A full current driving licence, use of a car and insurance for business are essential to this role, as there will be a requirement to support learners/apprentices across the North West.
