Adult Facing Workstream

Recruiting a Adult Facing Workstream to join our Service in West Kent GBP 29,000 per annum plus 25 days Annual Leave, Pension schemes, Staff discounts, healthcare and more. This role is a 1 year fixed term contract and working 40 hours per week. Job Overview:To work alongside Integrated Children's Services to support families who are experiencing domestic abuse by advocating for women and children in the West Kent area and ensuring that statutory services take the clients wishes into consideration in any Child Protection or Child in Need meetings and/or plans. The post is restricted to females only due to the nature of the role. The occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (Part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies. Key Responsibilities:- To advocate for women involved with Social Services and be their voice.- To ensure that the needs of women experiencing domestic abuse are taken into account.- To work in partnership with all agencies in relation to safeguarding children following both local and national approaches around Early Help Assessments, Children in Need Team around the family and Child Protection Protocols- To write and contribute to the completion of Reports for Courts and Children's Social Care Conferences and meetings regarding the families, when required by Look Ahead- To keep up to date with, and implement, requirements of the Law and any other Legislation relating to work with children, such as the Children Acts 1989 and 2004, and Child Protection Policies and Procedures.- To advocate on behalf of children and young people with experience of domestic abuse on an individual and group basis.- To develop links with appropriate agencies to ensure the diverse needs of children and young people using the service are met, and to communicate with nurseries, schools and other educational establishments- To co-produce a scale to measure outcomes, and involve children in the decision making process where possible- To educate and foster an understanding with mothers, as well as other agencies, of the impact of domestic abuse on children and young people, and the resulting needs and issues.- Adhere to all the policies and procedures - Engage in learning and development activity to increase knowledge and skills- Engage positively in reflective practice sessions with colleagues.- Undertake any other duties consistent with the grade and nature of the post as may be reasonably assigned- To act at all times in accordance with the aims, philosophy and practice of the service- To treat all information - both verbal and written - in accordance with Look Ahead's policy on confidentiality- To maintain good relationships with all involved professionals and agencies- Report any observations relating to customers welfare- Adhere to all the policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care, Support & Housing plus those specific to the project including any statutory requirements- Ensure Look Ahead Health and Safety policies and local protocols are adhered to at all times- Maintain records as required at the project under the direction of management- Participate in team meetings/reviews and the general development of the service- Engage positively in reflective practice sessions with colleagues.- Undertake any other duties consistent with the grade and nature of the post as may be reasonably assigned Skills, Knowledge and Experience:Essential:- Recognised qualification in childcare such as NVQ level 3, NNEB/DCE- Experience of working within the Domestic Abuse sector for at least two years- Experience of working within a partnership/multi-agency setting- Experience of working with children of all ages- A working knowledge of the potential impact that domestic abuse, can have upon parenting capacity- Knowledge of the 'Think Family' approach - Strong persuasive and negotiation skills to engage and work with a range of partners, where they may be barriers to understanding or resistance to change To view the full job description, please visit the Look Ahead website.
