Overview

Leeds City College is part of the Luminate Education Group, and one of the UK's largest FE establishments with around 1440 employees and over 22,560 students. The school of Land and Animal Science was established two years ago with a small cohort of students which has doubled this academic year. The school is currently based at Temple Newsam Home Farm, which is a working farm with livestock and the school has been graded as 'Outstanding'. We have plans to grow and develop the school over the next few years, and explore more commercial aspects of animal care, such as canine grooming and pet first aid. We are looking for an energetic, highly motivated and engaging 'hands on' Head of Land and Animal Sciences to join our team. You will have a background in both land and animal care, and be particularly great with animals. You should have an excellent understanding of finance and budgets, and have the strategic vision to grow our school within the next 3 to 5 years. You will also be commercially minded and able to cultivate a commercially viable business as part of the schools development. Stakeholder relationships are key to our school's success, so you will be able to form strong relationships with both existing and new stakeholders. There will be some teaching involved, so you will qualified to a high standard with a degree in your area of specialism, and an appropriate teaching qualification at Level 5 or above. You will have experience in delivering BTECs as well as ABC qualifications. You will also have the experience of managing a team, whilst ensuring that they deliver high quality teaching.
