Overview

This is an overview of the role: This role sits within the Affordable Housing (AH) Provider Services team in the onboarding sub-team, which has responsibility for first line assurance and partner on-boarding for all AH grant programmes. As a specialist, the post holder will support the Investment Partner Qualification process and, in liaison with the Homes England Risk Directorate, the Know Your Customer process, dealing with provider queries and collecting documentation to support these key due diligence processes. This will involve working collaboratively with teams across Homes England, including MPP, Risk, Legal and Investment. The postholder will need to influence internal stakeholders as well the public, third and private sectors and their advisors and will need an understanding of AH policy and the operating environment. The post will report to the Senior Manager - AH Onboarding. Coaching other staff may feature. The successful person will be responsible for: - Assist the Senior Manager with delivery of first line assurance and onboarding service for Affordable Housing programmes ensuring appropriate due diligence is undertaken before grant funding is released. - To proactively manage a caseload of providers through the due diligence process and ensure a standardised approach is adopted and consistently applied in line with Homes England procedures. - To work collaboratively with colleagues in the Risk Directorate and from across the agency to deal with queries arising in relation to provider onboarding and due diligence whilst ensuring appropriate governance and oversight. - To build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, communicating to stakeholders an understanding of the due diligence requirements for our AH grant funding programmes, our statutory powers and how it aligns to wider Government housing and Homes England objectives. - Assist the Senior Manager Contracts, as well as Senior Manager Historical Grants, to provide technical advice/support in response to technical queries arising from internal and external stakeholders in relation to due diligence ensuring appropriate governance and oversight and that historical grant is protected. In order to complete the responsibilities for this role, the successful candidate will have: - Degree level and/or professional qualification in a relevant field and/or relevant experience of managing/administration of grant funded programmes. - Excellent communication and negotiation skills. - An understanding of Homes England's statutory powers in relation to Affordable Housing grant funding and ideally knowledge of the affordable housing sector, including regulation and housing development. - Collaborative Values - Works collaboratively, developing mutually constructive relationships internally and externally and focused on the wider mission and objectives. - Learning Values - Coaches and mentors others to produce good results and maximise outputs and productivity.
