Advisor 2 (Development & Flood Risk) Location: St Mellons - Rivers House Grade & Salary: 5, £30,120 rising to £33,383 over three years Post number: 200867 Type of contract: Permanent Work pattern: full time Closing date: 5th April 2020 Benefits: Civil Service pension, 28 days annual leave, rising to 33 days over 5 years, flexible working options, occupational health including counselling and advisory services and eye care, childcare vouchers and salary sacrifice schemes. Role Purpose The key role of this job is to carry out the day to day duties of the team to strict timescales associated with Flood Risk Activity Permit determinations and compliance checking, and Town and Country Planning statutory consultations. The post holder will need to demonstrate good time and workload management skills together with an ability to work with key Natural Resources Wales and external stakeholders. Qualifications and Skills Educated to degree level in a science or engineering discipline Member of appropriate professional body (e.g. CIWEM or ICE) and working towards becoming chartered in the near future. Excellent communication and analytical skills. Understanding of flood risk mechanisms/sources of flooding and fluvial hydrology. Strong and effective self-management and organisational skills. Good knowledge and experience of GIS systems and data management. Good report writing skills. Must have a full UK driving licence. For more information, please visit our website.
