Communications ManagerLondon, E2Level: CommunicationsSalary: £41,265 gross per annumBenefits: UK standard packageHours: 35 hours per weekDeadline: 01/04/2020 23:59Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a Communications Manager to join our team in London, UK.The Communications Manager (CM) leads the External Communications Team within the broader ER function, to help position the organisation with strategically relevant audiences as a leading technical NGO.They will be responsible for ensuring that we remain creative and effective in the way the organisation is sharing knowledge and information and ensure we are reaching new audiences, as well as existing supporters, with timely and appropriate publications and content. They work closely with the Head of External Relations (HER) to support the delivery of an integrated communications, media and positioning strategy that reflects the organisation’s business development, advocacy and technical strategic objectives.Working closely with team leaders across the organisation, they are particularly key to ensuring ER Team relationships with remote MC communications staff are preserved and productive. The CM is also responsible for supporting the organisation’s learning outputs, specifically with reference to how these fit into an external communications agenda, helping to position the organisation’s expertise.The successful candidate will have:- A degree and/or masters and/or significant work experience with emphasis on communications, public relations or media in a UK and/or global context, ideally with some marketing and/or donor relations experience- Substantial experience in a managerial role in communications and/or external relations or a relevant discipline, ideally in the international development sector- An excellent understanding of development issues, ideally with experience in the health sector- Excellent team management and/or leadership skills, with experience of building young teams- Excellent experience of media engagement and management- Experience of using effective marketing approaches for organisational positioning- Sound knowledge of the development and dissemination of materials both for print and online- Good experience in developing and delivering training and capacity building, particularly in multi-cultural contexts- Good experience of donor relations (institutional donors) and communications for relationship buildingTo apply for the role of Communications Manager, please apply via the button shown.We need to keep beneficiaries safe, so our selection process reflects our commitment to safeguarding.
