Overview

Description To continue to deliver and develop the high quality provision of tax services. Reporting to the Tax Senior Manager and Tax Partners, you will be working with and advising private clients on personal tax matters relating primarily to non-doms and non-residents, IHT, CGT and trusts (including offshore trust/company structures). This will be a mixed advisory and compliance role involving ongoing work for existing clients, as well as assisting with ad-hoc planning projects. Client focus You will be working with high net worth individuals, business owners and other individual clients to help manage and structure their personal and family affairs in a tax-effective manner. The role will have an international private client focus, including working with overseas structures and with clients who are non-UK domiciled and/or non-UK resident. You will advise clients as necessary to mitigate tax risk, comply effectively with tax laws and take into account prospective changes. You will assist clients in meeting complex demands for UK tax reporting, compliance, planning and strategy. Specifically, the role will include: Contributing to the efficient and successful delivery of tax and associated services to the client; Assisting the Partners with the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and taking a practical/business driven approach; Building and maintaining relationships with clients and providing high levels of client service, ensuring that all aspects of their affairs are dealt with accurately and on a timely basis; Building relationships both within the firm and externally with clients and other contacts, identifying opportunities and managing expectations; Taking responsibility for day-to-day client liaison; and Assisting clients with their wider tax compliance obligations Managing and supervising Delegating work to junior team members and reviewing work completed by them; Involvement in supporting, advising, coaching and motivating team members when required and helping to ensure they fulfill their responsibilities; and Assisting with knowledge sharing within the team Managing a portfolio Commercially manage and develop own client portfolio; and Ensure clients are kept up to date with relevant technical and industry developments Business Development Participate in networking and other business development activities as required Requirements Essential CTA qualified and a strong academic record; Experience in dealing with personal and trust tax matters, including good knowledge and experience in dealing with offshore company/trust structures and clients who are non-UK domiciled and/or non-UK resident; Good technical skills and keen to develop further; Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build longstanding relationships both internally and with clients; Experience of dealing confidently with a variety of individual clients and other professionals, including trust companies, bankers, lawyers, etc; Enthusiastic, positive and willing attitude to work; Diligent, accurate and hands on approach to work; Project management skills to plan and prioritise work in an organised manner to meet deadlines; Able to take a flexible approach when handling multiple ongoing matters; Strong client focus and commercial awareness; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Experience in delegating to and training junior members of staff; Good IT skills, including proficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel; and A commitment to maintaining CPD in all areas relevant to role.
