Business Development/Account Manager - Plant Hire/Sales To be considered for this role you will require a background of selling Mobile Construction Machinery. This is not a commission based vacancy, but is a salaried role paying £40-45k car etc. Our client offer bespoke Products and Specialist Plant Hire for their established and very successful business. Due to investment they will be moving into new purpose built site, which will have excellent facilities. This role is due to expansion and will cover such areas as East Midlands, Worcestershire, Shropshire, South West etc. You will only be expected to be in the Office roughly 1-2 times per week so the rest will be working from home. Your location is likely to be within approximately 1 hours drive of the Buckingham area, but this is flexible. Company Background Our client is a well-known and respected supplier and hirer of Plant Equipment such as Tractors, Telehandlers, Excavators, Dumpers, Trailers, Utility Vehicles and more. They also manufacture one of the largest ranges of fully bunded diesel and AdBlue storage solutions, as well as mobile dust suppression equipment, for both hire and sale. They are incredibly diverse in terms of the industries they operate in; from Construction and Civil Engineering to Demolition and Quarrying to Recycling and Waste Management not to mention Events & Festivals as well as Airports. With a solid history in engineering, they also have the facilities, knowledge and expertise to build bespoke products to meet specific customer requirements. Many of the bespoke builds we have completed in the past do not actually exist on the open market but were required by our customers for very specialist purposes. Job Overview A suitable candidate would have one or more of the below: External Sales / Area Sales Experience with a Plant Hire Company External Sales / Regional Sales Experience with a Distributor, Manufacturer External Sales / Sales Rep Experience selling into the Agricultural, Construction Sector Key Account Management Experience - Major Projects experience Knowledge of the Tool & Plant Hire sector This is a high-profile role and it needs a high-profile sales professional. You will be liaising with Tier 1 contractors, Demolition companies as well as some major house builders. Going into Head Office meetings with Procurement Teams, Operations Directors, Financial Directors and discussing the Supply Chain. However, you will not be averse to putting on your boots and visiting sites. We are looking for someone with a proven track record in managing a large portfolio of customers as well finding new business opportunities. You must be able to work to tight deadlines and respond positively under pressure. The right candidate will be a team player, but also capable of working under their own initiative. We are searching for an individual who will deliver on promises and back up in actions what they say they'll achieve. Responsibilities Management of existing key customer accounts Following up sales enquiries from both existing and potential customers Exploring new opportunities with existing and potential customers Proactively identifying areas of improvement of internal and external processes Appropriate customer experience management After sales care 'Selling hire’ - Working closely with our hire department as often 'sales’ customers may wish to hire an item instead.
