Overview

Be part of a new team developing a new service at Thornford Park Hospital in Newbury. As an experienced Senior Healthcare Assistant you will have experience of working in acute mental health services, will have excellent communication and robust resilience skills, and the ability to develop therapeutic relationships with service users. You will support women from the age of 18 years old who are experiencing acute mental health crisis in a new 10 bed female Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), which is opening in the New Year. Delivering high-quality care in a challenging environment, and working in a multidisciplinary team will be second nature to you, where you will enjoy the reward and satisfaction that comes with seeing people in your care improve. A full induction and training package will be provided prior to working on the unit, along with on-going support for professional development. Where you will be working Location: Thornford Park, Crookham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET You will be working at Thornford Park hospital, which is a medium and low secure service with rehabilitation flats. The service provides a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering patients in their recovery and rehabilitation. Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will provide personalised assessment and treatment programmes for males with mental illness/complex care needs as well as those with personality disorder, and females in a PICU service.
