JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title Junior IoT Technician   Department Lightsource Labs Line Manager Michal Poszumski Purpose of the role     The successful candidate will be working with latest micro services technology in the Information of Things (IoT) environment to help develop and test a brand-new product for the Digital Energy market. We will be combining renewable energy sources, storage solutions, smart grid capability and electrical vehicle trends to create develop a market leading technology.   The role will be based in the Imperial College White City campus where Lightsource Labs concentrates all research and development. Advanced laboratory facilities provide ability to conduct various scenarios and validation tests for the final products.     Duties and responsibilities   ·       Liaising with multiple teams: Developers, R&D, DevOps, Product Owners ·       Managing and supporting system in the lab (networking). ·       Setup up new automated tests. ·       Managing Technical documentation. ·       Contributing to the CI/CD pipelines. ·       Defining and Managing Validation and Quality processes. ·       Demoing latest features to the internal stakeholders.     PERSONAL SKILLS   Work Skills   ·       Solid knowledge of Linux (x86/arm) ·       Good networking skills (WiFi/Ethernet) ·       Fluent in any scripting (bash, Python, JS) ·       Understanding Serial/Radio protocols (Modbus RTU/Zigbee) ·       Experience or interest in maker electronics (Raspberry Pi/Arduino) ·       Microservices architecture and APIs (REST and WS) ·       Basic time series database understanding ·       Comfortable with Jira/Git/Confluence workflow ·       Experience with Jenkins/Ansible deployment tools.   General Skills/Attributes   ·       Interest in Digital Energy or Renewable Energy or EV markets ·       Good communication skills (both written and verbal) ·       Good planning and organisational skills   Experience Required   1 year of experience working on IoT related projects if preferable but not essential   Education and Qualifications Electrical Engineer/ Computer Science Engineer degree or equivalent
