Overview
Market leading non-food retailer requires Assistant Manager. Position: Assistant Manager Location: Bromley, Kent & South East London Salary: £20,000 - £27,000 basic bonus benefits My client is the UK's leading retailer, on the basis of turnover, in each of the key product markets in which they operate. They differentiate themselves from there competitors through there national store portfolio; they currently operate out of 400 stores and are mainly based on out of town retail parks, there broad product range, competitive pricing, customer service and their strong brands. If you have a real passion for retail and set yourself high standards when it comes to staff coaching, sales and motivational skills, this could be the role for you. The Role A good Store Manager relies heavily on their Assistant Manager to effectively run the Store while they get involved in Staff Development, Area Management Meetings and other priorities that take them away from the shop floor. So, you will in many cases be responsible for the day to day operations side of the business and it will come as no surprise therefore to see that your key accountabilities fall into the same categories as the Store Manager, with a slight shift in emphasis. Delivering Superior Results You will lead regular team performance measures and targets and help them to define their own responsibilities and objectives within the overall strategy. Performance targets are important for people and their bonuses and you will facilitate their achievement. Developing our People Coaching your team members and developing their ability to coach others is essential to making sure that people have the skills they need to perform their role. You will encourage this within a team-based approach, helping people to clearly define their roles and responsibilities and giving them the business information they need to excel. Your own personal development towards running a Store of your own is very much part of this and is supported by my client’s internal development program which you can sign up to upon joining the company.
