Your new company Your new company is a group of construction and property experts who have become the first name in social housing and public sector projects across Greater London. 40 years since they were established, this large independent group of surveyors and project managers have become renowned for their diligence, work ethic and quality standards, developing their business and reputation substantially within this time-frame. The business are now looking to take on a graduate building surveyor at their recently established South London office to support the senior team members and grow within the business, developing relationships with their local authority and housing association clients in the area to boost business. Your new role Reporting into a senior surveyor, you will provide essential support to the building surveying team. Based in the South London office you will predominantly work on social housing and education projects and will provide the following technical services with assistance from your senior colleagues: Writing specifications and providing contract administration for major projects Preparing and submitting applications for statutory consent and liaising with relevant authorities. Structural Surveys and condition reports and analysing building defects you will also be a key point of contact with key stakeholders from local authorities, housing associations, schools and other academic associates. What you'll need to succeed In order to succeed in this role you will need a minimum of a bachelor's degree in building surveying or an equivalent subject. You'll need to be a clear communicator both in person and via written correspondence. You will need to be confident enough to liaise effectively with industry professionals and clients as you will need to be able to provide clarity surrounding certain issues and provide clear updates, manage expectations, and effectively advise. Good MS Office skills will be required for this role as you will be using these packages to communicate, report, and document key information relating to projects. Teamwork and a strong understanding of instructions will be crucial to success and progression in this role. What you'll get in return In return for your commitment to this role you will receive a competitive salary ranging from £30-35K Per Annum (based on 1-2 years of professional experience) and you will be enrolled on APC to boost your professional development. You will receive 25 days of annual leave each year in addition to the standard 8 UK bank holidays. The business will enrol you in a company pension scheme with a 5% contribution from your employer and a minimum input of 3% from you. There is the option to opt out of the pension is preferred. In addition you will be able to claim back business mileage at a rate of 45ppm and travel via public transport for business can also be claimed.
