Job posting title Infrastructure Construction Consultant Start date Immediately Job title Consultant (Grade 3) Overall purpose of the post This is a role for an infrastructure professional with strong data/analytical and project management skills to join the RICS Consultancy Services team on a full-time basis to contribute to consultancy commissions. The successful candidate will be involved in interpreting data and providing analysis with a focus on the infrastructure construction sector. Summary of duties Duties include working with colleagues, to provide data analysis and management services to clients on consultancy commissions. In addition, the successful candidate will become involved in other RICS work involving the analysis, management and synthesis of economic and market data. Experience Demonstrable experience in data analysis/management gained through previous/current employment. Ideally the successful candidate will have: Experience of engineering contract documentation and administration, including the provision of early cost advice; Understanding of the management of costing within Infrastructure projects; Some knowledge of standard methods of measurement and their use within the ‘Built Environment’ The successful candidate will be competent in the use of standard MS Office Software with strong proficiency in Excel. A good working knowledge of a statistical package would be desirable. Skills required The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a background in a construction related discipline, who is looking to transfer these skills into areas of business intelligence and consultancy. A track record of client focus and project delivery/management is desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability and confidence to work with a wide range of Clients and Consultants and with a writing ability that is coherent, grammatically correct, analytical and professional. A good first degree in a construction-related discipline (engineering, surveying) or in a quantitative discipline (economics, statistics) is essential. A higher degree would be preferred. Candidates with good compensating experience would also be considered.
