Overview

 We're looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.  Developing and delivering strategies that will cohere to the community-focussed ethos of the company. Achieving targets pertaining to audiences, income and activities. Researching new commercial opportunities. Overseeing space hire business and operations to maximise revenue streams. Providing the license holder and Designated Premises Supervisor for the venue. Collaborating with development teams to optimise the membership scheme. Overseeing bar operations alongside the Bar Manager. Exploring options to maximise profile through music industry partnerships. Producing annual competitor analysis, strategizing new business plans from it. Collaborating with Programme Manager to deliver increased in-house produced events and artists. Undertaking site visits and meetings with potential artists, alongside Programme Manager. Taking responsibility for all commercial hires. Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders. Working with Development Team to develop an SROI model for not-for-profit and social justice events. Overseeing the Production & Technical Team’ s delivery of events, ensuring it’s suitability for the general public. Investigating improvements on facilities and processes as required. Working with the Facilities Manager to ensure the building meets H&S regulations. Producing the department’s procedures and policy documents, updating risk register on a monthly basis. Ensuring Production Team staff deliver optimal customer service. Working with Development Team to support delivery of marketing campaigns and PR generally. Managing Events Team to ensure their professional development. Recruiting for staff as approved by the board. Preparing departmental operations plan and budget for board approval, reviewing on a quarterly basis. Reviewing management accounts, monitoring performance as well as annual accounts in collaboration with Head of Finance & Operations. Supporting the Boards by working with the Chairs to set meetings for decision making. Preparing and presenting progress reports to the board of activity against operational plans.  Strong commercial acumen Experience in working within social justice or artistic programmes. Solid programming experience in a music/arts venue (including business planning). Significant senior managerial experience, working with a team of more than ten people. Good understanding of venue management and day to day operations. Proven track record of diversifying and/or improving commercial income streams. Strong negotiation skills. Keen understanding of event production and promotion. Awareness of customer service best practice. Competency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook. Charitable inclination. Excellent written and verbal skills. Knowledge of marketing strategies and implementation. Experience of funders and funding processes for artistic projects. Experience of beverage operations. Personal Licence Holder. Knowledge of ticketing and venue software systems (Spektrix and Yesplan). Health & Safety knowledge.
