The Company: A provider of returnable transit packaging systems, renowned for providing high quality solutions to the retail, general industry and automotive sectors. Job Title: Business Development Manager Territory: Northern Region Job Purpose: To win profitable new business through the full Sales Cycle from prospecting through to product delivery. Working across a range of diverse Manufacturing, Industrial & Commercial sectors to establish opportunities for sales and project management. To make a positive contribution to the key growth objectives for the company, identifying new leads and selling a complete value proposition Key Responsibilities/ Targets: The company is going through a period of growth and is looking to increase market share in the sales of Returnable Transit Packaging. Selling quality, solution led proposals concentrated on reducing single use packaging. Weekly pipeline reporting (kept updated via CRM) will be used to discuss sales opportunities at a summary level. Understand any movements in the pipeline and implications on budgets/forecasts with mitigating plans put in place Monitor market conditions, development potential and competitor activity and realign tactics accordingly Gathering of corporate and product materials to form highly informative and professional presentations with preparation ahead of all interactions Commercial project ownership in the case of new product development and product pricing Managing customer portfolio and new business wins 80% Pricing and contracts 5% Reporting, budgeting and forecasting 5% General administration and internal meetings (team meetings etc.) 10% The employee will have direct contact with all other employees within the company, at all levels, including frequent contact with colleagues from the following groups: Project, Product, Marketing, Sales Management, Finance, Customer Service, Scheduling/Production/Supply Chain Continuous Improvement Accountabilities: Identify opportunities for innovation from obtaining a thorough understanding of product lifecycle, in order to optimise technical solutions Encourages contribution of ideas from the team/individuals and gives timely feedback to ensure performance is maximised Ensure best-practices are followed and best-in-class is recognised and strived for within team activities To carry out any other duties, relevant to the post which may arise Salary: Up to £45,000pa depending on experience If you feel you have the right skill set and attributes for this role and that it’s the challenge you are looking, then please contact us on a confidential basis.
