Summary: Facebook seeks a highly motivated and energetic tech enthusiast to serve as Lead Counsel on Facebook's product counseling team. The role is dedicated to advising teams that are creating innovative new integrity products and machine learning systems, aimed to improve the safety and well-being of the Facebook community. This is a great opportunity to work on complex legal issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment. Required Skills: 1. Serve as primary contact point and advisor for product and engineering teams based primarily in London and Dublin 2. Analyze the products, features, and systems that Facebook builds to protect its community and provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies 3. Provide legal advice across many subject areas including data protection laws and regulations, intermediary liability, consumer protection laws, and other global legal frameworks 4. Coordinate with policy, communications, and other cross-functional teams on external communications, policy development, and product launches Minimum Qualifications: 5. Qualification to practice in at least one European jurisdiction 6. 5+ years of relevant legal experience 7. Experience advising clients on legal issues related to privacy/data protection (including knowledge of GDPR and other global privacy legislation) 8. Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and provide pragmatic and considered advice under tight deadline Preferred Qualifications: 9. In-house and product review experience 10. Experience advising clients on legal issues related to user-generated content and intermediary liability 11. Experience with technology-related litigation and/or regulatory matters 12. International experience and ability to work effectively across multiple jurisdictions Industry: Internet
