Salary circa: £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience) Commission Scheme and Profitability Bonus Pension Scheme - 8% non-contributory from day one Private Healthcare Death in Service Insurance Laptop, Smartphone, Telephone and Broadband Provided Company Credit Card/ Travel Expensed A Company Car or Allowance (£500 per month) 24 Days Holiday ( 8 days stats) Field Based: Midlands and South West (Including Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Huntingdon, Peterborough, Nottingham, Alderley Park and Nottingham) The Requirements: As the Business Development Specialist, you will have practical experience of working in an Analytical Laboratory with HPLC (MS) and/or GC (MS), or experience working in the chromatography consumables, Analytical Chemistry, Pharma, Petrochemical, Food or Biology marketplace is essential Ideally you will have previous Sales or Customer driven experience within Chromatography, HPLC/ GC, GC-MS, Biopharma, Biochemistry or similar field, and you could hold the title of Account Manager, Applications Sales, Sales Representative, Sales Executive, Sales Consultant, Business Development Manager or a Territory Manager - working within a target/KPI driven environment You could have worked for the likes of Thermo Fisher, VWR, PerkinElmer, Hichrom, Phenomenex, Waters or a similar organisation OR you could have used these products extensively in the laboratory now wishing to make a move into a commercial position You must have come from a Chemistry degree/related background such as: Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or Organic/In-Organic Chemistry and have a great knowledge of techniques such as: Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, SPE, MS (mass spectroscopy), LC, GC, HPLC as the Business Development Specialist My client requires that the successful Business Development Specialist possess excellent communication and organisational skills, you must be a real relationship builder and someone that can build rapport with high level individuals, Managers and Scientists Hold a full UK driving licence The Responsibilities: The BD specialist will work closely with their UK counterparts, the Technical BD Manager and the Sales Manager, where they will implement and deliver the company Technical Sales Strategy to ensure business success against agreed sales and performance targets using the accountabilities outlined below This role is more focussed towards sales support, you won’t have KPI’s but you will be expected to support the sales team when dealing with customers, technical support and attending seminars/ conferences and events Deliver the Technical Sales aspects of the chromatography business, against targets set by the Board and implement strategies developed by the management team. This role has a direct impact on the success of the Distributed Products and Services (Knowledge Transfer) businesses and as such will carry both operational and financial stretch targets. As this is a key role within the company, it requires a high level of personal motivation, communication and organisational skills in order to successfully meet and exceed targets The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and highly motivated with excellent communication and team working skills.
