About the Role: As Technical Director youll be responsible for leading the technical teams within our technical delivery portfolio. As a member of the Management Team, the role is responsible for the successful creation and delivery of technical products for clients and agency alike. Requirements You will be responsible for: * Managing technical risks and opportunities * Providing technical solution design and implementation decisions * Ensuring Dev Ops best practice and infrastructure within the department * Guaranteeing quality of outputs * Demonstrating good business awareness with regards to cost and margin * Driving the agencys ability to stay at the forefront of new technologies to enable continued growth within existing clients and create new business opportunities for prospective clients. * Taking ownership of delivering the best possible outcomes and digital solutions; making a positive contribution by taking the initiative to improve ideas and solutions. * Working closely with the Group Digital Operations Director, you will set the strategic direction of the * department and represent the department on new business and business development opportunities * Most importantly, taking responsibility for yours and your teams learning and career development by participating in learning events, undertaking self-learning and positively contributing to your performance management requirements. You will be expected to lead, motivate, recruit, induct, develop, retain and appraise your team. * Undertaking complex coding tasks where necessary, taking ownership for analysing and resolving technical issues, whilst growing the agency as a .NET Centre of Excellence * Leading a team of approximately 7 developers who will consist of .NET, PHP and Front End * specialists. Core competencies * 8+ years as a Software Developer * 3+ years in a senior technical leadership position * Extensive experience with working and developing on with enterprise level content management and e-commerce systems such as Sitecore, Magento and Umbraco * Extensive experience with architecting cloud solution on Azure and AWS * Experience with personalisation technologies * Experience in agile development methodologies such as Kanban and Scrum as well as waterfall * Experience with source control, build pipelines, continuous integration, release management and deployments * Experience with container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes * Experience with SQL database management and optimisation * Experience with API integration such as REST * Experience with integration to third party CRM systems such as Salesforce * Experience with Atlassian suite of tools such as JIRA and Confluence * Self-motivated, able to work both independently and within a team environment * Confident in dealing with both internal and external stakeholders * Demonstrate strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems and processes * Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written Preferred competencies * Sitecore certified * Experience in automated testing * Experience working in an agency Benefits In addition to a competitive salary, we are committed to creating a brilliant environment for all our people.
