Overview
SCIENCE - PHYSICS PREFERRED Teacher MPS/UPS Full Time or Part-Time Required for September 2020 a teacher of Science. The person appointed will have the opportunity to teach all ability levels throughout the 11-19 age range. Applications from NQTs or experienced staff welcomed. The ability to teach to Post-16 is essential. Specialism in Physics preferred. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and ambitious physics teacher to join our science team in September 2020, teaching science and physics to GCSE and physics to A2. You will be joining a well qualified, friendly and very supportive team. Physics is a popular and successful subject in the school, with a 100% pass rate at A2 from 2009 to 2019. Last year our A2 physics results were ranked 3rd Nationally by ALPS. We aim to encourage not just exam success but also a lifelong enthusiasm for the subject, through super curricular opportunities such as our ongoing Cosmic Mining Research Project. Many of our A level physics students go on to study physics or physics related degrees at University, or to take up apprenticeships in STEM based careers. We are an Institute of Physics Lead School, supporting the development of Physics teaching in the southern region. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to attend physics CPD workshops run locally, regionally and nationally, allowing them to continue to develop their own physics understanding, and to further advance their teaching.
