The Role: The Internal Sales Engineer will respond to inbound enquiries from the existing customer base and proactively generate opportunities from their outbound prospecting activities. Through contact with C-level executives, buyers and technical engineers, they will successfully qualify and develop new opportunities through to close. The successful candidate will go through an extensive induction programme which will include professional sales, commercial and product training from internal and external parties. You will be aligned to a UK field-based account manager supporting the overall territory plan and have the opportunity to go onsite and further develop customer relationships when necessary. This position offers the individual a chance to progress within the organisation at an exponential rate and will appeal to anyone with a genuine interest in new technology and who wishes to commercialise their existing engineering skillset, or take advantage of their ongoing technical sales experience. Key Responsibilities: Achieve the commercial annual targets set for a designated territory (or territories). Respond to direct phone calls, emails from existing customers, web leads and supplier leads. Commercial and technical qualification of customer requirements. Liaise with Product Management when needed, to assess the suitability of the solutions to supply. Communicate clearly and effectively with other internal departments. Advise customers on technical configurations and best-fit solution options. Diligent and consistent management of the CRM ( salesforce.com ). Creating, configuring and sending quotations using the Company’s system tools. Work with a designated Field Sales to develop, document and implement a territory business plan in line with the prevailing corporate strategy. Efficiently manage sales opportunity funnel/pipeline. Position the Company, suppliers’ solutions and Managed Services to customers. Cooperate & collaborate with Customer Care, Credit Control, Operations and Logistics teams when needed throughout the sales cycle. Support any post sales issues as exceptionally requested by Customer Care or Operations. Develop and maintain industry and product knowledge through self-learning. Demonstrate learning of supplier solutions and seek cross sell opportunities. Proactively contact customer base. Candidate Profile: 1-3 years of experience in an Engineering design/development/IT or a Technical Sales role Be A-Level or Degree educated (preferably in IT or Communications Technology related studies). Having a genuine interest in technology. Able to work collaboratively with colleagues. You are able to research and absorb key products and solutions well. Effective time management between reactive and proactive tasks. Clear and concise telephone manner. An understanding of company hierarchical structures. Tenacity and determination to achieve mandated sales targets. Working knowledge of MS Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. Organisational skills, utilising technology.
