Job Description

We're looking for an Internal Communications Manager to join us for a one-year fixed term contract. As Internal Communications Manager you will work as part of a small, but high performing team who design, develop and implement internal communications strategy and execution plans for the People Team. This is a hands-on role where you will partner, provide guidance and act as a sounding board and source of communication expertise. What will you be doing? Stakeholder Management & Counsel * Building relationships with employees and key senior business leaders, acting as trusted advisor to shape key business decisions and outcomes * Manage and set expectations for key stakeholders/customers. Develop positive relationships with key stakeholders and actively manage those relationships * Develop consistent and rigorous standards for measuring success and share these outcomes with the relevant stakeholders * Be an advocate for the Global Internal Communications Strategy, ensuring leaders understand the service proposition and operating model * Be an advocate for the Global People Team, and role model across the People Function and wider business. Specifically, take a lead role to drive and embed our Reward, Culture program and Employee Value Proposition communications. Strategy Development & Delivery * Work proactively with senior executives, business leaders and stakeholders to embed the business strategy and vision * Develop a deep understanding of the Company's strategic goals, performance and audiences in order to ensure employee communications and engagement plans are fully aligned * Articulate key narrative and messaging. Providing expert communications counsel, drafting and editing key communications collateral as required * Design and deliver strategically relevant and significant campaigns, drawing on the resources within and outside the function to execute flawlessly * Ensure the employee communications strategy helps Liberty Global to improve employee engagement scores (as measured by Zoom employee engagement survey), including liaising with our external partner Willis Towers Watson Planning & Development * Ensure internal communications planning and delivery is aligned, to optimise impact, align messaging and drive identified synergies. Create KPIs in line with business strategy and measures of success * Quality assure internal campaigns and communications, helping to inspire and educate leaders and managers to be great communicators We tend to look for people with: Preferred education/ qualifications: * Higher level degree or additional equivalent professional qualification * Demonstrable experience of delivering in a Communications function, preferably within Global listed company * Experience of being a trusted advisor operating at all levels, across complex reporting structures, influencing outcomes * Demonstrable experience of managing and developing teams * Brings insight and strong awareness of industry issues facing the TMT sector Knowledge & Experience: * Is a champion for internal communications, supports senior colleagues to develop as great communicators and leads by example * Able to develop world-class, innovative and breakthrough strategic communications to translate the most complex business requirements, manage change and turn strategy into action * Uses creativity and fresh thinking to continually improve internal communications strategy * Ability to engage with leadership teams and senior stakeholders, establishing rapport and trust to successfully establish credibility in the role of expert adviser providing counsel and guidance * Acts as a key point of integration to connect all facets of the internal communications agenda * Develops strong networks with individuals and drives a collaborative approach across functions * Works with flexibility and focus to manage numerous tasks, under pressure and to tight deadlines * Entrepreneurial, responsive and delivery-focused - able to turn around quality work swiftly and get things done * Calm under the pressure of tight deadlines * Resilient to changing needs and evolving plans * Curious - keen to understand the 'bigger picture' and gather information / make connections to stay informed * Excellent interpersonal skills - able to forge effective relationships with key stakeholders across the business at all levels * Excellent judgement and prioritization * Optimizes relationships with suppliers and external agencies drive results Critical Skills Required (functional/technical) * Excellent writer with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills * Clear expertise in developing and implementing internal communications strategies to engage employees and manage change * Exceptional planning and prioritisation capabilities * Strong senior stakeholder management skills * Detailed knowledge of all forms of digital communication channels, processes and best practice * Defined analytical skills to monitor and improve effectiveness of communicati
