JOB AD: [CONTRACT] Sales Manager Location: Rugby Duration: 6 months Start date: ASAP A client based in Rugby is looking for a Sales Manager for an initial 6-month contract. Role: Provide commercial management of the tendering process as part of our exciting & thriving Industrial Segment, managing the bid activity on key equipment or service opportunities Provide direct customer facing support during the bid process through to negotiation and order close out Management of the commercial process Presenting and managing the bid through all stages of the 'Risk' process Creating and presenting presentations for the bid/no-bid decision meeting and bid submission stage Working with Systems & Field engineering to secure compliance and signed off estimations and 'Bill of Materials' Obtain internal/external supplier specifications and costings Proactively engage procurement to secure best supplier pricing where necessary Run regular bid specific cost out exercises to ensure competitive based pricing Provide first stage 'Terms & Conditions' reviews, working with the Risk Manager to finalise 'commentaries' In conjunction with the sales leader and account sales manager understand the account strategy and our competitive situation Develop bid specific proposals to best outline our value proposition to the customer Where necessary define our offering in power-point to use in conjunction with the bid and customer presentations Consider the full Industrial offering, incorporating service scope and the after sales offering where appropriate In conjunction with the sales account manager, technical, legal and senior leadership help to develop our negotiation position Assist sales with the presentation of proposals directly to the customer Pro-actively negotiate with the customer to order close-out Cover a variety of solution and market areas but specifically power quality, control, drives and excitation systems for the Energy & General Industry markets Provide support for solutions and services delivered out of the UK and primarily booked under the UK P&L Activity will primarily be in the UK, Ireland, APAC, SSA, NAM and the Nordics, with the opportunity for some overseas travel Help to 'sell to win' business in accordance with the unit financial kpi's (orders, cash, margin, convertibility) Thorough & pro-active approach to updating opportunities as entered in SFDC May at times aid the project management team wrt claims and project variations Reporting of proposals activity on a weekly/monthly basis as required Ability to work on multiple bids for multiple customers at any one time On some occasions provide direct sales activity Skills: Degree level in engineering or appropriate apprentice background Commercial operations experience Industrial/Power Conversion background PC literate and familiar with Microsoft tools, Salesforce and sap Experience in capturing and interpreting customer requirements Flexible, adaptable and enthusiastic approach; good team player and effective communicator Thorough proactive approach to work, with a 'sense of urgency' to deliver quality 'on-time' There is an expectation that domestic and overseas travel will form part of the job
