As London’s leading commercial agents of their type, our client is looking for a new business development professional to join their London-based team. This is a role for an industry insider who knows the market well and is now looking for the right platform to maximise their skills and experience to progress their career to the next level. Role In London, there are always companies moving premises, growing their office space, shrinking it, changing it. Wherever there is change, there is business to be done for a commercial property specialist and it’s your job to find those changes. You’ll be based in the central London office from where you’ll be making calls to senior decision-makers across London and the South East. You will often have information that tells you they’re moving; other times, you’ll be digging around to find that information. When you find it, you need to probe to understand the requirements in detail and then introduce the ways in which you can help them. The next step is to book a meeting for one of your senior team - surveyor, architect, project manager - to visit the company’s offices and meet key people. Once organised and booked, you move onto the next target company. Keep probing, keep searching, keep calling in a professional and dynamic way and you’ll give yourself the best chance of finding a high proportion of the available work in the market. It’s a competitive market so you need to be good to make your mark. Person The Sales Talent Matrix: Does this sound like you? Knowledge : 2 years’ telesales or telemarketing experience within London’s commercial property market is essential; the experience must involve outbound calling, not just inbound warm calling; you should know the market well including the different parties involved (PMs, architects, fit out companies etc); it’s essential you know London well. Attitude : Focused, resilient and hard-working, you will be positive, hungry and ambitious. Skills : Advanced telesales or telemarketing skills within commercial property, including the ability to ask smart, probing questions to uncover new opportunities when calling cold leads; the skill to open up cold prospects to share information; strong objection-handling skills; excellent spoken and written English. Habits : Used to high levels of calls each day (60-80 with at least 1 hour of call time); well-organised with structured sales processes; happy working to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) without constant supervision; professional and polished in all you do. If you match most of the above, we’d love to hear from you. Package On offer is a salary of £30,000 - £40,000pa (depending on experience) plus uncapped commission. With commission and bonus available for hitting targets, you can earn £55,000pa (maybe more).
