About us At LayerTwo we're building new ways for users to access the most liquid cryptocurrency markets directly from their own wallet. We've built the first Bitcoin derivatives trading engine on the Lightning Network that allows users to instantly trade without exposing their funds to seizure, theft or long transfer times. We believe cryptocurrencies can be used as the building blocks for a faster, safer and more inclusive global financial system for all. As a junior backend engineer at LayerTwo, you'll be helping us make this vision a reality. About the role As an early employee, you’re going to be presented with many learning opportunities and have the opportunity to directly shape the product as well as the culture of the team. You’ll join a small focused team to support the development of everything from the backend to the frontend with a focus on building scalable internal and external APIs to our platform. These APIs include websockets, rest and grpc’s. About you You are a dedicated problem solver that isn’t afraid to learn new concepts from scratch and you have worked on your own side projects or businesses, with a portfolio to demonstrate it. Stack Rust, Java, C++, Go Key Skills Experience with at least one of the following languages: Java, C++ or Rust. Experience with frontend frameworks such as React or Vue. Experience with working with time series databases. Experience with cloud provisioning frameworks and containerisation.
