Overview

Chief Technical Officer - Clinical Data Science Start-Up   What are we looking for?   We are looking for a Chief Technical Officer (CTO) who can bring leadership into the team with subject matter expert (SME) on the technology front playing the following roles. . We are also open to make them a technical co-founder/founding member subject to expertise. Familiarity patient clinical data handling and confidentiality(e.g. CALDICOTT) is desirable but not mandatory.    Management role Track, analyse and monitor technology performance metrics Oversee all system design and changes in system architecture Developing the company’s strategy for using technological resources Evaluating and implementing new systems and infrastructure Build quality assurance and data protection processes Leadership role Lead and inspire the technology team and the broader third-party teams to achieve the commercial launch of the product and platform on time and within budget Will be subject matter expert in technology and development Oversee all system design and changes in system architecture Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in the technology landscape Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity Identify, compare, select and implement technology solutions to meet current and future needs Outline the company's technological vision, implementing technology strategies, and ensuring that the technological resources are aligned with the company's business needs. Develop policies and procedures and use technology to enhance products and services that focus on external customers. Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage Collaboration role Work closely with Marketing, Business Development and Operations to define and deliver new products and enhancements Use stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology Help departments use technology profitably Communicate technology strategy to partners and investors Financial role Manage and optimise infrastructure assets to satisfy internal financial targets Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance Develop, track and control the development of annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing and operations Staff management Represent the technological agenda in staff meetings and when making hiring decisions Lead the Interview panel on hiring decisions and recruitment Essential Attributes Business Knowledge Solid experience of designing, launching and operating an IT and Digital platform Exceptional understanding of the IT and Digital platform components and commercials acquired as CTO in a technology organisation preferably in healthcare sector organisation (not mandatory). Essential Functional / Technical Skills Commercially astute Excellent communication skills Excellent project management skills Personal Attributes / Competencies Tenacity and ability to deliver in an environment of rapid change. Gravitas to influence at most senior level Determined, resilient and controlled under pressure TIME COMMITMENT LOCATION Time-commitment - Variable; as needed till the phase of seed-funding and then continuous steering of the company activities to ensure we sustain the growth trajectory and reach the milestones in time. UK or USA location preferable.   REMUNERATION Delayed compensation plan till seed funding. Equity Salary - Negotiable, Top of Industry Standards of Payment, Subject to Performance and Past Experience.
